On the third day of Maui, the Pacific Whale Foundation gave to me....
Three Triggerfish
Two Moorish Idols
And a Big Friendly Stripebelly Pufferfish

I was lucky enough to catch up with a coral reef expert from the Pacific Whale Foundation giving a guided tour of the reef at Ulua on our third morning. She knew all sorts of factoids about the different wildlife of the reef, and was more than willing to continuosly dive underwater to point out things we might have missed otherwise. I'd recommend trying to attend one of these free tours if you are in the area. For dates/times check their Events Calendar and look for the Coral Reef Information Station.

Mum and Annemarie go for a snorkel. Picasso Triggerfish, otherwise know as Humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua'a, meaning "fish with the snout of a pig". Two Moorish Idols Stripebelly Pufferfish (lower left) with a Unicornfish (right)and a Blackspot Sargent (above).

In the afternoon we explored Kihei and went to the local library (see Page Six for pictures of the library). I cooked up a quick dinner, then we called it a night, because we had to get up very early the next day for...
